Darla Sees
Founder/CEO, Sees HR Consulting
As founder of Sees HR Consulting, my passion is helping small- to medium-sized business owners follow their goals by helping them understand employee and leadership development as they grow a thriving and profitable business.
As businesses grow, their employee development issues increase. Many business owners are not prepared to take on dozens of employees and the responsibilities that accompany a larger workforce. Sees HR Consulting was developed to bridge the gap and ease the growing pains that small companies experience in becoming a mid-sized business.
Background
I consider myself a Texan. Being raised as a military brat, I traveled regularly until I was 11, when my family moved to Fort Hood, Texas. My father retired from the U.S. Army during my senior year in high school, and my family remains in the area.
I began my career as a Substance Abuse Counselor after earning an Associates degree in Applied Science from Central Texas College. After studying to become a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, I worked at a female prison unit with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. While working at the prison, I continued my education at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and received a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. I later went on to earn a Master’s of Science in Human Resources Management from Tarleton State University and am a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR). Recently I became certified through the Society for Human Resource Management – Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).
With 20 years of experience, I’ve held a wide range of positions with increasing levels of responsibilities across a variety of industries including manufacturing, telecommunications, construction and healthcare.
My true passion is in helping growing businesses succeed. I believe that employees are the heart of all businesses and creating a company culture which engages our employees is key to the success.
During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family in the outdoors – camping, RV’ing and tubing on the lake.
I’m a 1st degree blackbelt in Taekwondo, training for my 2nd degree. I began this path with my young daughters with the goal for them to gain self-confidence, learn leadership skills and self-defense. The journey has been a game changer for all of us.
